Caring for Your Aaromé Bar
A thoughtfully cared-for Aaromé bar can last between 25–35 baths. The secret isn't how often you use it — it's how well you let it rest between uses.
Let It Dry
Your soap's greatest enemy is standing water.
Keep your bar on a well-draining soap dish with slats, ridges, or grooves that allow water to escape. A bar left sitting in moisture softens unnecessarily and disappears far sooner than it should. A bar that dries fully between uses remains firm, beautiful, and long-lasting.
Give It Space to Breathe
When not in use, keep your soap away from direct shower spray.
A shelf, a dry corner, or the edge of a basin is often all it takes. Constant exposure to water prevents the bar from drying properly and shortens its life considerably. Like most natural things, handcrafted soap thrives when given a little room to breathe.
For Unused Bars
One of the beautiful things about traditional cold-process soap is that it continues to mature over time.
Stored in a cool, dry place, unused bars gradually become harder and longer-lasting. Keeping them in their kraft wrapping, tucked away in a drawer or linen cupboard, is perfectly sufficient.
No refrigeration. No plastic wrapping. Just patience.
The Aaromé Lather
If you're new to handcrafted soap, the experience may feel different at first.
Unlike commercial soaps that rely on synthetic surfactants to create abundant foam, Aaromé produces a richer, creamier lather that cleanses gently without stripping the skin.
Give it a few days.
Most people discover they prefer the ritual of a natural lather once they've experienced the difference.
Gifting a Bar
A cured bar makes an even better gift.
If your soap has rested for a few weeks before gifting, consider it a benefit rather than a concern. Simply refresh the twine if needed and present it as intended — a small everyday luxury, crafted to be enjoyed slowly.
